Question about "Internet Radio"
« on: 15 Dec 2006, 02:59 pm »
May be a dumb question:
I see the ability to stream internet radio touted as a selling point for Squeezeboxes and Sonos, but I don't understand if this is any different from the radio stations easily available over the web.  Does a SB grant you access to anything "proprietary" that isn't accessable over the web? or have they just made it easier (pre-programming in stations, etc.)

Thanks for any help

Not really proprietary other than being able to search by genre, etc.  The big thing is the ability to control the interface from a room where the PC is not so you can keep the noise and clutter down.
