bubba966, do you have the URL for the mod?

Here's the page to order the OPPO 971 mod

And here's the thread in the Bolder Cables circle about the modded 971

I ordered the 971H.  We'll see how I like it.  I have a standard Pioneer DVD player (578a or something like that) that I can use for comparison.

The 971H will noticeably best the 578a. A stock 971H will best a modded Pioneer 47Ai. Wayne's got a Pioneer 755Ai (international version of a 47Ai) that he greatly improved and was shocked when he got the 971H and it put out a better picture than his 755Ai.

A stock 971H is great. A Bolder Modded w/Bybee 971H is much better... :green:

Interesting.  I compared the component, progressive scan output of my Proceed PMDT with the component non-progressive scan output of the 971, and the Proceed's output crushed the output of the 971.  However, the 971 is really built for HDMI, and I currently have no TV/projector with an HDMI input.  It'll be interesting to perform this comparison again, once I get a projector.

I believe it has been said before somewhere, the 971H was rated number 2 in the world for DVI/HDMI output, not bad for $200 with no mods.
