Cabinets from the mls factory in Guandong are on the water and arrive in 19 days.

Pricing is $10,500 for the three pieces with the usual upgrades available for even more money!

What is the V60?
Is it the RM30 and larger sub? Is it a whole new speaker?
I'm not sure from the website exactly what the V60 is.
By the way, it's been a while since I visited the website. It's vastly improved.

Not knowing what it is promotes gnawing curiosity, which is good.  Remember the GREATEST INVENTION IN THE HISTORY OF SPEAKERS?  Nobody knew what that was either.

This is sure to be better.

Information on the RM V60 will be released on or around Dec 15, when we (hopefully) will have pics of the one being built for CES.

It IS NOT based on the RM30, or any of the Ribbon Monitors that have preceded it.

It is a clear and distinct departure from what you are accustom to from VMPS.

While I don't want to (again) be accused of "over-hyping", I think it will be safe to say it will open some eyes (ears) in a pleasant way. :green:

I might also add that I have just taken deposits on this model already "sight" (sound) unseen. :o

It is likely that actual production will be just after Chinese New Year.

Sorry, but even if they are the best speakers ever made, that's still stupid.

Not when you've already owned 8 pair of Brian's best designs over the years, which is the case here.

If there is anyone who I would trust to make a great speaker it is Brian Cheney. Great designs for 30+ years and always innovative. :P

Yes, Brian is one designer that I'd have faith in sight unseen also.  With the first two pair I bought them unheard. I was actually shocked at how awful the first pair sounded til I learned a bit about dialing them in. I remember thinking "what have I done!" spending nearly 2k on speakers that sound terrible :o

I'm on my third pair of VMPS speaker s since 1996 and in each case the speakers have been exemplary for the money. The RM 40's I've owned for some time now and still am amazed regularly as they are eerily good. :D

In the end the risk I took initially had been well worth it. Alot of people who heard those old Tower II SE's were very impressed for what they cost back then also. Today having the RM 40's is sonic heaven every day. It's nearly like having live entertainment and the presence of the entertainers seems so natural.

Is the V a clue? And if so does this mean that we're almost to 360 degree dispersion?

A friend has a pair of old Ohm F's which radiate 360 degrees. They do have a quality that fills the air like live music does. This is why I suspect the waveguides must also have this quality that's almost never heard outside of live music.

In any event I'm very much looking forward to what sounds almost like the "Next Generation Vmps" speakers.

Think Victory of Samothrace (Louvre, Paris).

We refer to the RM 60 around here as the Music Wing.  As in:
"Have Stately Mansion?  Add a Music Wing!"
