It appears that VS sold out his old stock to the online dealer at discount prices to make room for his new speakers. I bought the older model that way. The brick and mortor folks were mighty upset! However, where I live, St. Louis, we have been steadily losing retail dealers for some time and now they are few and survive by doing home theater. VS hitched his wagon to the trend, and for that I don't blame him.
And, Rob, nice one! We all know how reputable and scientific the cable people are. We all know this and yet, somehow, we want to believe. The same goes for power conditioners, isolation devices, media cleaners and enhancers, etc. It's only what you believe sounds better. Don't listen to me or anyone else about what should sound good to you. I like the VR-4JRs.
