In brief, Terry Cain of Cain & Cain loudspeakers (think Abby to jog your memory) has been diagnosed with a deathly illness and now, well past a year of having struggled and kept quiet, is in a position where to pursue further medical treatment and the costs of nursing care require outside assistance.
To help out, we're running a pledge drive on 6moons. A separate account has been set up that is being administered by Terry's cousin on his behalf. This account will be used for cash donations (personal checks, direct deposits, wire transfers). We're also assembling a list of audio products at fixed prices where a published portion of the sale (or all of it depending on the donor) will go to Terry's Medical Fund. This product can be new or used, B-stock, dealer dems - anything goes as long as its condition is fairly described. 6moons won't accept or disburse any monies whatsoever. All transactions will be between the sellers and buyers, with the sellers committing to forwarding the pledged portion of the sale to Terry's account directly. All we're doing is hosting the notification page and equipment list and updating it as often and quickly as possible.
A phone number and e-mail for the Medical Fund administrator are included so doctors reading that page (or fellow victims or relatives of theirs of the same medical condition) can get directly in touch to share knowledge or more.
I've built the page with the information and initial list last night and before I leave for the Poland show tonight, it'll go live. You can find it by clicking on the big banner that will stretch across the showcase page, news page and industry features page on 6moons.
The equipment list as it'll read tonight reflects initial contributions from industry personnel and private individuals who responded immediately to a group e-mail announcement. Once the page goes live, it is hoped that other individuals will join. Come Monday next week when I'm back from Poland, I'll add all new entries that have collected in my inbox in the meantime.
