Well folks, only one thing is going to hit these assholes where they live - complete and utter boycott of all music for an extended period of time. Don't buy CDs, don't go to shows, don't buy T-shirts, don't download MP3s. What else can we do?

The only thing that is going to change the status quo is for the current business model to go completely belly up. The RIAA will have to go bankrupt before they see the light.
The RIAA seems to enjoy nothing more than shtuping its customers in the rear end, and they will continue to do so as long as we keep our rear ends pointed up at them. They would rather exhort 17 million bucks from some college kids to sustain their bottom line than spend 17 million looking for talented bands and bringing them to the listeners for a reasonable price. I'm sick of paying 18 bucks to "experiment" with a new band when I can't even go to their freaking website and find a goddamn slushy 128k MP3! Why does the industry expect me to buy music without listening to a sample first? Is it any wonder that FREE music is so popular? The fucking record label websites have 30,000 CDs for sale and maybe a dozen MP3 samples. Not acceptable! To hell with them.
