Looks nice and sturdy.
I have a Scott 350 tube tuner too - very nice piece.
Maybe I'll do Maple for the top and bottom with MDF for the middle shelves.
I can swap out the MDF shelves for maple as I can afford them - not a bad idea.
Hi Brad, that little 350C sounds even a bit better than my Denon ... It was pretty grody when I got it, but the price was right, i.e., free. Scott made some nice gear
The MDF is very strong... absolutely no sagging even with 60 lbs of amps up top. It looks fairly respectable with a nice coat of paint, especially when not dusty. But some day I will get some proper hardwood. The associated nuts are more expensive than you may expect. I have bridge-grade steel hardware and was told that (if not misappropriated) it would be >$75 worth. Of course, those 3/4" nuts and bolts would support hundreds of lbs of solid-steel shelves if desired -- total overkill
