OLIVE New Software Upgrade Is GREAT!!!

I saw where Vinnie posted about the new Software Upgrade for all the OLIVE Media Servers, but thought I might post this in a General Circle to let people know that the Software Upgrade is "officially" available Monday, but can be upgraded anytime.

It is a LARGE improvement and gives owners of the OLIVE units the one thing they have been asking for and that is to be able to remotely control their OLIVEs with a laptop, desktop, or palm sized computer, either wirelessly or via a hardwired connection.

WOW!!! it is very cool.

I am sitting at my desk, in my office and in the other room, is my two channel listening room.

I am sitting here, choosing songs, and radio stations from my desk.

All details, and instructions will be available on the OLIVE website Monday, so while you can download it now, the information will be available then.

What was one of the drawbacks of the unit has now been removed, and is now one of the best things about it.

The computer interface allows you to edit and create playlists, and all that type of thing from any computer on your network.

All I can say is VERY COOL!!!, Job well done OLIVE

How right your are.

In doing a small amount of preliminary exploring, I found that in the upper left corner of the "folder" are 3 screen resolutions, and the one for the NOKIA gives some nice big print even on laptops.

How do you get the software update?
If I hook it up to my internet connection can I download it?
What other features are included in the update?

Go into the "settings" menu to: VERSIONS

Highlight versions and "SOftware Update" should appear in the right column.

Hit the "function key" button on the OLIVE to the right of the words "Software Update" and as long as you have an internet connection the update will happen.

Let it completley finish and it should "shutdown" and restart by itself.

Then you should be good to go.
