more on Bryston CD player

Hi James,

I notice that you have, in some of the previous posts, mentioned the upcoming CDP price: 2500 - 3000 $. I presume this is the estimate for CD player (not just transport or DAC) ... I also presume (I seem to do that a lot  :D) those are US $. Could you, please, give me some expected pricing for European customers?

I have paid 3000 US$ for B60 SST. How much is the same amp overseas (US, Canada)? I'd like to extrapolate the approximate price of future CDP.

Off topic: Btw, I noticed on hot summer days B60's faceplate is running a bit hot. But, as long as I can touch it, I am not concerned. Considered taking it to work and giving it a thermovsion sweep and sending the results to you ... decided to listen to more music instead ;-)

Thanks

p.

Hi,

B60R in Canada is $2600 the Remote is an additional $350.
The B60 has thermal protection so as long as it is not shutting down your in good shape. In fact most people feel electronics sound their best just before meltdown!

Hi,

Sorry for repeating the question, but since there are Canadian and US dollars ($), it's kind of confusing. "CAD" and "USD" is what local exchange uses ... Anyway, seems like I was confused by the Remote. Here, it's included by default. Once I had it in my hands, there was no way, I'd refuse to buy it :) The up dn is a clever abbreviation-play. My congrats to whoever thought of it  :D

I would prefer to see a "smiley" next to that "meltdown", like this one

Thank you for the information. I have been looking for a CD player and I have considered upgrading to Bryston DAC ... but, decided to go with one unit because I was warned about some jitter issues and increased cost of another interconect. Now that I've chosen Audio Aero Prima, you guys are coming out with a player that will be (probably) in the same price range ... Timing ... good for you, bad for me :)

Best regards
