B200 thoughts...

Due to just being a pain with the way I was going I am considering some B200 Visatons. How much power do they require? How loud do they get in a straight forward open baffle? Would I be able to hurt my ears loud?

I have two subwoofers for stereo subwoofer use so I got that "bass" covered.

They will get very loud on a plain baffle.
They can soak up a lot of power without complaining.
I run mine with 14wpc of tube goodness, but several others have used them with up to 150wpc of sand.

The problem with the B200s is going to be integrating them with a sub.
Their rolloff is very shallow, so unless you are going to cross them over, they can cause issues.
They also make very little bass on the baffle by themselves - but the mids and highs and presentation are killer.

I was thinking 150hz crossover at 24db octave. That is the crossover I have right now. I could lower it a little but whatever.

I guess I will stick with my amplifier which should do up to 50wRMS, but I had considered going to a T-amp but I guess they can crank so why bother!

I think Oldtimer is using his subs crossed at 150hz/24dB and I have used that also.
It mostly depends on how well you think the subs you have blend with the B200.

They are Dyna's so they are pretty soft.

yes 150hz seems a very good point for Xover to the B200. IT acts as a BSC solution too. You will not be disapointed, believe me. :D

Happy Listening
