I think you'll be better off making a copper or aluminum sheet to cover the bottom (glue to granite) or you'll always have hum and buzz. 

Never bothered to make sticky threads.  Maybe I should have?  Personally, I hate the things.  Much prefer to see new stuff on top.  No stickys.  For an example of too many stickys, check the modwright forum.  Can't help it, I like things clean.

Hi Jim, does that plate need to be one solid piece or can I section it to fit around all the wires coming through the base?  I also have shielding tape, would that work.  Other than the hum/buzz this thing kicks the butt of 5K phono stages.  You did a great job!!!  Cheers.
