I heard 4 actual Argent Room lenses in a system that uber expensive not too long ago. i doubt it was $100K, but it is pricey nonetheless.
My guess is that anyone who has heard a properly tuned or treated room might have issues with what the Room lenses do...i'd say their effect is kinda subtle whereas a full-blown Real Traps or GIK acoustics room would be a dramatic change.
the system where I demo'd them had no less than 2 dozen 8th Nerve Response & Adept pillows in it, a very large basement. So, we never had a chance (or the desire) to remove all them pillows and give the Room Lenses a fair shot.
however, my impressions of what they did is favorable, just not sure if its jaw dropping.
A key thing to remember with Room Treatments is Bass Trapping. If folks have speakers and subs that produce copious bass, they are going to be partial to the treatments with large Bass Traps...they need them actually.
Or, they can settle with a system like I have from michael green audio that has about 1/5 the stuffing of a single bass trap - yet seems to perform those duties admirably. aa
1000a, you should PM Nick and ask him to contribute to your Thread...he's been making these for him and his friends a while i think. Supposedly the placement of the stuffing is absolutely crucial.
