« on: 13 Sep 2006, 08:36 am »
I currently have some funds for a future project..
I have a pair of 27TDFC's and am trying to decide which of the DST or Seas mid/woofers, 6.5" or 8" to put with them.
Series x-o of course..;-))
medium bookshelf or maybe small MT tower.... purely for stereo music.

ideas, pics, etc of projects welcome !!

something out of the ordinary in visual design also welcome .. I'm dry of ideas at the moment, struggling :-(
ever hit the "brain full" stage???????? :-((((((
sorta like writer's block I guess!  looking for a spark !!

also looking for design ideas for a TB 3" + 6.5 Audax woofer.

get those minds working, guys !!!!

Thanks, AG

Given the range of designs you've made it's tricky to suggest something new ... How about some spectacular bent ply, trumpet mouthed horns?

Have you thought about horn-loading the tweeter?

I just completed a design with a horn-loaded OW4 paired with the W18EX.  I think it's going to be a dandy.

Bondo was used to really smooth the transition from the waveguide to the fascia.  If you make all your cuts precise, a nice paint job on the cabinets would look incredible.

Andy

I'm doing a SEAS 27TDFC / Peerless 830875 TM floorstander at the moment and all the preliminary tests shows it's a nice combination. The Nomex woofer does sound sweeter than the sandwich cone but it does have a nasty peak which can be controlled when used with a zobel and an AR series crossover.

Zaph's got some good data on the 6.5" mid woofers. I've always been curious how the XG18WH00-08 would go even though it's a tad low on SPL.

SEAS + SEAS.... sounds good.  :thumb:

I'm always amazed by how good the 27TDFC is and the 27TFFC is not that far behind.
