Dave's Record Shop recently moved to 1404 San Pablo Ave (near Camelia St.) Berkeley. A little south of REI and across the street from Stella Nonna restaurant.

Sorry about the pun, but for the record...in the North Bay, there is no Earthwaves records in Cotati, and Vinyl Planet is no longer, but there is a newish record store in north Petaluma (forget the name), and there is also the longstanding Last Record Store in Santa Rosa.
Thrift stores are great, but finding jazz is always a problem--damn jazz lover's coveting/collecting  not so for classical, rock, etc.
Always a cheap thrill to find stuff....

The Music Store at 66 West Portal Ave. is a funky packed shop in San Francisco that has a quite variable vinyl section up on its mezzanine.
