Three manufacturers that come to mind are Hawthorne Audio (only does open baffles), GR Research (recently introduced two open baffle designs) and Selah Audio (will do OB's on a custom basis).

The bamboo baffle is really nice looking - it's a bit of a hybrid considering the woofer is sealed

open baffle mids
I've been happily listening to my Alon IVs going on 20yrs.

Benefits - wonderful  mids with great soundstaging and imaging, deep powerful bass from sealed box woofers.

Downside - they look like massive swinging top kitchen garbage cans, albeit sheathed in rosewood.

Why do they call it "open baffle", isn't the baffle the front panel? Shouldn't it be call "Enclosureless" or "boxless", I know, it doesn't have the same ring. When I first heard of open baffle speakers, didn't know what it was until I saw photo's."

Way back when I was young (lets not get into when that was), they were called "open-backed" speakers, which I think is more descriptive. They were actually quite common. Most of them did have some form of small to medium sized wing, usually 90 degrees, so they tended to look more like a box, but some had very short sides so would be very similar to many of todays designs.
