I've listened two days ago in usual way (Very good..of course..) today..the amp power on , the led in ON..but nothing from speakers..only a "hiss".
If i raise the output level of preamp (Tact 2.0) all go OK. I have to send the units to my dealer for SE upgrade in September :P..but..any suggest?

Grazie
Gianni Cimbalo

P.S.: forgive me for my bad english..

P.P.S.: I've buyed an Oppo 970 for SACD (I've an Audio Analogue Maestro 24/96..) incredible...

Since you already have a TacT 2.0, I suggest you look at the TacT S2150. They're on sale for $1600. This would eliminate an extra D to A conversion in the signal path.  8)

The Nuforce amps are toys that require an analog input, the TacT S2150 takes a digital
signal off the RCS. One less D to A conversation out of the RCS, and one less A to D
conversion in the Nuforce. Less = more. 8)

Gianni -
I'm surprised one of the NuForce guys hasn't responded to your post, but I recommend sending an email to support@nuforce.com

jhm731 -
I'm not a moderator of this circle, nor am I associated with NuForce in any way.  That said, it's generally considered poor taste to recommend competing products or to disparage a product in the manufacturer's own circle.  Since you've done both, you may want to consider amending your posts.

Best regards,

-Jim

I don't think it's even the right thing to do to post about malfunctions obviously depending on faulty hardware which 1st hand should be cleared thru the support of the manufacturer. That could be the reason why they haven't replied to this. For all I know the support of NuForce has been very, very responsive why these posts are rude.

Apparently NuForce doesn't think it rude to seek assistance here, seeing as how they recommend this circle as a means of doing so.

From the "Support/Download" section of the Nuforce site:

Please refer to existing support issues on the left menu before you contact us.  Additional support can be found in NuForce Circle at www.audiocircle.com  (emphasis added)

What "posts" do you find rude?

Hey guys, we don't monitor this forum every day!
This week we're super busy with the preparation of S-9 launch etc.
Next two weeks we will be travelling ...

If you want to seek help from other forum members as the problem might be related to your set up with TACT or whatever that we're not familiar with, that's perfectly fine.
But if sincerely want us to take a look at your problem, you should submit your question to support@nuforce.com. As one member pointed out, that's the logical way to go about seeking help. Sure, if we fail to response and you want to embarrass us, you can post it here :)

Now back to your problem:

Your description of the problem is vague.
Could the problem be that Tact 2.0 is sending out noise to Ref 9 until you raise the volume of the TAct 2.0? Then the title should be "ARRR.... only a Hiss from my TACT ...".  :)
You should provide more quantitative description.
What is the output level that you have to raise to be ok?
If you raise it and then lower it, what happen?
Does it happen on one amp or both amps?
Did you do anything to your setup for the past 2 days before this happen?
Where did you get your Ref 9 ? We don't have a record of it :).

But you usually do (or so it seems), thus my surprise.  My comment was actually meant as a compliment vs. a dig at you specifically or NuForce in general.

I agree that email is the best course of action (I'm the one who linked the email address).  However, with all due respect, if you find it embarrassing to have support issues posted here, you shouldn't suggest it as an alternative means of soliciting support on your website.

Regards,

Jim

I have this problem with, tact, with an ARC SP9 , but non constantly...we can describe as "random"?? The problem is only on 1 amp, always the same, after raise the volume level, the amp go OK, then i can lower without problems. The setup is the same from several months.

Of course, i hope to solve all when the amps go to dealer for upgrade/servicing, i've talked with him today..from the beach :P
