Retro- College Night

It seems that there is demand for a retro-college night. This would be a night where we can only use gear that goes back to our college years, no fancy interconnects, no power conditioning , no dedicated outlets. The only music played will also date back to then.Date is still to be determined but probably early september, I'll let you know nearer the time.
Dig out your old amps, receivers and speakers.  :)

Sounds cool Tim! :thumb:
Heck, I still *have* my college system, though they sure seemed to have sounded better back then.
If someone brings a Dual 1219, I won't have to try and pound on mine to make the hum go away.

Now I gotta dig out my 'elephant ear' bell-bottoms!  :o

Regards,

I'm all over it. I'll bring my 1210 with a Shure V15 III.

I'm also good bringing my HH Scott 299, the HH Scott 330 tuner and the mating Heathkit tubed Multiplexer (simulated stereo FM!). As for speakers, I can bring my Infinity Qe's. I've also still got a couple of cassette decks, my reel to reel and tons of tapes. If somebody runs short on gear, give me a shout, I still have a bare minimum of three or four more integrateds and separates we could use (old solid state stuff like my Spectro Acoustics, Sony, Dynaco and a Heathkit)(better make that 6 or 8 systems). Heck, I've even got some old EQ's and DBX processors if we wanted to play with them too.

This should be a BLAST!

Now that I think about it, I really need to have a garage sale don't I?

Anybody have any ideas on where to host this? It would be nice to do a BBQ and throw Frisbee's at the same time.
I have a sneaking suspision, this could get BIG in a hurry (especially if Deadfish brings his Altec's).

Tie Dye RULES!!!!

We can do it at my place if you want. Someone else will have to be incharge of the BBQing as I haven't cooked meat in years and I don't want to poison someone. I do have a small grill that can be used.Let me know.

This should be a hoot! Afraid I don't have much gear to offer up other than my AR-XA turntable but it sounds like Scott has enough gear for everyone though .

Scott if yer gonna start ditchin stuff may I have first dibs please?

Are you fella's sure you don't want to have this in a small bedroom with blacklites, posters, lava lamps and incense burning? Can't really do that outside, maybe we should set up both.
