Yeah, the room treatment are speakers is a good one. :D I think room treatment for most people is their kid's misplaced clothes, the unfinished laundry, etc.

If Bose are such marketing geniuses then how come I can't think of a single bit of advertisement from them?  Where is this stuff?  Magazines?  TV ads?  I have a vague recollection of some ad where there was some kind of morph effect on the wave radio thingy, but that's about it.  I must be out of the loop.

I know very well the marketing strategy of BOSE. They are good at deceiving people that don't know better. I think they also train the "White Van Speaker" salesmen.
Their advertising comes in the form of multi-million dollar infomercials using a very loud spokesman to get the word across. Let's think about this, who calls in on these infomercials with praise?!?!? Most are 86 year old little ladies that can only hear the two octaves Bose creates anyway.
I do believe the original 901 was ahead of it's time. Not that it was an audiophile speaker but the idea and design was unique.
I know far too much about Bose and their ethics to have any respect for them.
 Just my 2 cents.
