IA-7

I am considering one of this to drive my 96 db broadband speakers, but I need to connect a subwoofer using high-level connection...

I hear that digital amplifiers dont support this connection, does the NuForce ?

This Pre does have a set of line level outs that could be used to send a signal to a sub via interconnect. They were put there incase you wanted to add a pair of amps to bi-amp speakers, or if you decide to use different amps, you could use the pre side of the IA-7 by its self.

This is a great sounding unit!

Thanks, but my subwoofer doesnt have xover on the low-level input, so I need to use high-level, connected to the speaker outputs...

One additional question.

Very rarely, when turning the unit off (remote or control knob) the blue lights stay on. No sound is being produced - so unit is officially "off". To fix this situation, I have to turn off with the rear rocker switch. Any idea why & if this is harmful or not?

Thanks

If you have to use speaker level, just use some jumper wire from your speaker binding posts to the sub.

I think the problem is that you can't common the earth so joining up the amp to the sub using a three pole connection won't work.

The alternative is to use two subs so that you can connect one to each side without commoning the earth.

Some manufacturers even sell an accessory to connect high-level with their class D powers, otherwise you might blow them...
