A few months ago, I took the plunge and shipped Tim over 400 CD's to rip and tag. I'd had some trouble doing that. It was getting too frustrating and time consuming and the price was right. Tim did the work promptly and shipped everything back to me. Problem was, my backup drive was still set up in the RAID format in my PC (a mirrored drive?). When my music only drive arrived and was reinstalled, it copied the "master" drive data of the 50 or so original discs I had ripped. I had to ship back to Tim, who fortunately had kept a backup copy. I again received and reinstalled the music only drive and all is well.
Yesterday, I called Tim on 2 separate occasions and he spent at least 2 hours going over software from Plextools, SlimDevices and Media Monkey. I copied the same settings that Tim uses and he gave a detailed primer on how to do the ripping and get tagging info via freedb and Amazon. I had done some of this previously, but he gave me some clever tips on how to work out problems. He also said to call him when more issues come up.

So far, Tim has been great to work with and he has delivered support after his work was done....just as he promised.  :thumb:
So, if you are considering his ripping/encoding service, you can't beat the service and the price. Highly recommended

Tirade,

I think I am going to use your service--or start using it sometime in September. I will send you an email to introduce myself and ask a few questions.

I have a lot of classical and obscure new age/world music. I wonder if its going to be trouble for you.

Cheers,
Bill

hi, i would like to send you my cd's for september.  waiting for the updated database.

Now accepting orders for September!

Sorry for the late reply. We spent the last 2 weeks moving and we just got internet at the new place this week.

Will update the DB in the next week as time permits and get it uploaded. Considering all the unpacked boxes in the garage and the mile long honey-do list I have, getting back to ripping almost seems like a welcomed break :)

Please contact me at tirade75@gmail.com for shipping information, or drop me a PM.

Just received my hard drive with nearly all the CD's ripped, tagged, etc...I forwarded Tim a LaCie 320GB drive which was plenty. The whole job was very professionally done. Tim informs you when the hard drive + cd's arrive at his house and then periodically throughout the ripping/tagging period about what could be ripped or couldn't. I was lucky, every cd I wanted except one was ripped. The only cd's that weren't ripped were these one offs that my wife had in her collection! I'm currently using Foobar 2000 (latest edition) but I need to download a better driver from www.usbaudio.com.

What can I say? Tim's work is treasured, his prices are very low and affordable. The packaging and presentation are excellent. He is trustworthy and sincere. Strongly recommended.  What more do you want?  :duh: Move to PC Audio today, and have a jukebox that is of audiophile quality! With the likes of Jim Hagerman, Wayne Bolder and Steve at Empirical we've all got it made. CD transports are now an era of the past (imho). Just vinyl and hard drive transports from now on. As Bas Horneman would say: To infinity and beyond!

Now if somebody could forward me some info on the best programs to create a media library that would be great! I am using Foobar and generating playlists, but would like something prettied up!

Thanks Tim  :thumb: :green: :D,

Anand.

Taking orders for the first week of Nov.

Also, if youre short on $$ but happen to have a Playstation 3 collecting dust, Im offering to rip your collection, regardless of size, in exchange for a PS3 for my son for Christmas.

I'll post this request in the trade forum as well if its allowed.

Completely booked through the 1st of the year (and maybe beyond that). If you have a small collection or just need converting done, then I can possibly squeeze you in, otherwise Im covered until at least Jan if not Feb.
