Nu Force IA-7 Upgrade

Dear  Jason:

I have auditioned your IA-7 and like it very much. However, I am a bit concerned about its 50W power, and wondered if Nuforce will be coming out with another IA of 100W or more in the near future. If I bought the IA-7 now, can I upgrade later when you put out a more powerful IA?

IA-7 at this price is not upgradable and we don't want to speculate about future product plan.  There is no plan to come out with a higher power IA-7 within the next 6 months.

Another alternative is to simply add a pair of Ref 8.5's or Ref 9s, which are becoming available on the used market as people upgrade to Ref 9's and Ref 9SE's.

The IA-7 then allows for a great "biamp" too.

Don't under estimate the capability of the 22,000 uF capacitors that can provide high peak power. If you have a small room and speaker with 89db efficiency, IA-7 should be sufficient. You'll be pleasantly surprise. IA-7 is practically 2 Ref 9 amps + P-8.

I'm using 84db efficient speakers and the IA-7 drives them plenty loud in a 12 X 14 room.  I have never have had the need to light up that 4th LED.
