first off i would like to thank all who posted up with good advice and audio knowledge,you guys are good,a big hats off,and standing 'O'.here is what i have come up with, player---sony 999 modwright,preamp--- Dodd,new battery powered job---vac 30/30 sig mk3,all driving the Zu Definitions via their speaker cables ibis.i hope this all works together, and sounds ok, as all this stuff was bought on internet play. oppps,i didnt mean for that to rhyme.thks again all.

Nice choice. Just this morning I spoke with one of my customers that has those speakers and really likes them. He is driving them with a 4 watt amp which is fine considering their built in powered bass units.

Keep us up to date when you get everything in and burning. Very good choice on the source. Dan does great work.

mca,the weather tells a guy to go outside,sweet summer.the little time i have spent tells me i am in for a good ride.i didn't go with sony but an opus 21 modded by GNSC.the Dodds have not shipped yet so i am going right into the amp with the 21.the next unknown is if the pre will help,gonna take a good pre to increase sonic bliss here.room treatment is next on the list,i can't think how good this will sound with a done room.the zu boys do have something going on with their lineup.so far-so good.i am most interested in a set amp also to see what all the fuss is about there.would like to compare the 30/30 to a good set.fun days ahead for sure.buying the speakers,actually,the whole system sound unheard was out-there,but this is working out ok.i still think of the DB-99's and really wonder if they can compare with the Defs.this new system makes my old one sound slightly broken.more to come on rainy days.thks

yes Chris.the opus 21 and speakers are in place and the sound is real-real sweet.like in above post,the player is direct to the amp.a sound stage like i have never heard,wall to wall.the defs are sounding better with each hour played.the bass from these speakers is sooo sweet.the front drivers send you detail from top to bottom also.very nice.the Dodds will ship in a few weeks by the sound of it.
