Not a lot of pics ... I did exactly what Al suggested ... floor tiles on the sides and an foam mattress cover for the acoustic foam ... seems to work VERY well ...

The more I play these speakers the more I like them .. they are very natural .. I can not tell which speaker the sound is coming from at all any more ... they are fantastic

foam matress cover? hmm.
went to target and all they had was psuedo down matress covers for 80$.
What am I missing here?
Like a roll of foam style matress cover?
With the egg crate looking texture?
Thanks, and glad you are loving the speakers, your enjoyment is encouraging.
What are your thoughts on the bass reproduction?
I like these because they don't have a pounding bass that would wreak havok on my condo.
What is the rest of your system like?

Bill
You can get the foam mattress topper at Walmart the cheapest I have seen is $6.95 for a queen size and that is it.
Rememeber this is really for acoustic use not for damping that is done from peel and stick tiles from HD or Lows.

Then after the mattress pad is put in place we use just a small hand full of poly behind each driver.
Nothing fancy zip.
That is the way that we showed them at RMAF last year.
You can line them with any 1" foam just make sure the foam does not have a face on it like BH5 :nono:  :nono:

Hope your cabinet maker can get them going for you soon.

Ted is just hammering away and will have them finished I am sure this week, just then waiting for his HVLP gun but he has said that finish will be done in the summer till then he is running them full out :o

Foam makes sense, thanks.
I was looking at the fitted matress covers thinking how does this work?
My cabinet guy wants to trade, for his time he wants me to rebuild his Bultaco ahrma race bikes, a 360cc dirtracker and a 250cc roadracer.
This will run me into the positive side of the bro world ledger.
Hmm, apex or a lambda kit?
First things first though, can you suggest a polyfil to purchase?
Vendor and quantity?
Thanks again Al.

I'm sure Al will tell you the same thing ... just use poly pillows from Walmart ... and about a handfull behind each speaker should do.

poly pillows, size and quantity?

Al, I like to fantasize on a few levels, 5.1 and 2ch.
Next level  is first step on 5.1 and next gen 2ch.
I feel compelled to get some line arrays.

Going Line arrays
Then go to the Omega with a DEQX.
Fast and punchy in room EQ can be controled a lot lower than the sealed passive crossover version.

After getting the Omega's shown online going in Salt Lake City a few months ago and yes that is the customers Home Theater shown on the site.(well less the fact we are now building the Apex C for him)

HE is running Buttlers for the mids Acoustic Research for the tweeters for for power to the DEQX.

These went from good with the passives to making the hair stand up on his neck ( yes customer comments   )

Yes DEQX is the way to go.$$$

numerous calls unreturned.
Cabinet bro is offline.
cool.
I am kicking back thinking f' it.
I am a self declared diy guy.
I dig open my aiwa boom box speakers.
The m-130 bolts in.
The crossover is beyond crude but after 3months of study I have have an opinion.
I try some stuff but push comes to shove.
I run the m130s full range after stuffing the .312" thick cabs with old dish towels.
I can't believe this good is only 1/16 of our loudspeaker potential.
I so can't wait now.
The olive rush is a close second

these speakers do in fact rock ...(long with many many other things)...

Ok perhaps one of the best complements came from a 4 year old girl .. my wife runs a family day home and she let the kids watch a movie ... part way though I come out of my office and see her in front of one of the speakers listening to the tweet .. she said "glass broke and it scared me ... it really sounded like glass broke"

she is a perceptive child :-)

A friend was over the other day listening to my RA8's and sw12 sub, and his comment was "Why would you ever go to a concert?"

DK, my wood guy called today and said I was in the cue for the end of the week.
WOOHOO!
One more question regarding the tile placement, if they are placed on the braces sandwich style brace in the middle, doesn't this create a huge void?
Do you apply tile to the braces?
The review snippets are equisite torture, btw.
