Mumbes, they have arrived, and they are good. I won't go much further, I will let the people that come and hear them post what they think, since that is what this event is all about - exposing some folks to some good speakers, locally here in T.O.
The build quality is very good - solid cabinets, nice veneer work (that is what REALLY stands out to this DIY'er, the lovely appearance of professional work!), quality sound, and good engineering are all evident.
The ribbon here is something special, that needs to be heard - I have heard a broad number of tweeters in my day - Usher's 9950, Scanspeak's best, Vifa's best, and this one stands out for me. Admittedly it is the first ribbon I have heard in my house, but I have been exposed to other ribbons in salons before.
I am hoping that some folks can come this Sunday, and am hoping that the first weekend in May will also work - Al has allowed me to keep these for a couple of weeks to get some ears on them, and I will open my home a couple of times to accomodate that.
My very good non-audiophile friend came over, to see what my fuss was about - he left a convert to FLAC, and is seriously considering a set of the HT3's - he presently uses computer speakers, and has always considered himself more of a music lover (think 80g of MP3...) but now, having heard some good sound, he is in a period of transition!
I look forward to meeting some of you folks, and hope that some can come by, and play!
