I don't beleive they have reviewed the DNA-500.

Every publication that has reviewed it has done so in a favorable way.

Most builders are charging about $35K to finish about 1,200 S.F. of basement area - including a full (modest) bathroom.  $37K for a full house must have been a bargain - especially, when you consider some of the crap I saw today at "open houses" selling for $730K.

My parents  bought their first house for $40K in 1975 in a small Minnesota town.  That guy must be quoting some house price from the 60's or 70's.

Oddly enough, the Bryston 14B SST -- supposedly equivalent to two 7B SST in a single package -- was rated class "A" but just dropped from the list as not auditioned recently.

Stereophile has a long history of not appreciating Bryston amps even though one was the reference for years of Larry Greenhill, one of their longtime writers.  Some brands are favored by that mag, some aren't, and it continues for years.

Why is that odd?

They dropped many products across all categories that hadn't been auditioned recently.  This has been their policy for years and is nothing new.

What seemed odd to me was that the 14B SST was rated "A," but the 7B SST rated "B".  Given Bryston's description of the two, I would have expected the same rating.  I suspect the difference is as much due to differences in reviewers as to differences in amps.  However, since I have never heard the 7B SST, that's only a suspicion.

Just wait for my $100 150W SKA kit module to be dropped into a block of machined Rhodium or Kryptonite, and priced accordingly.

That'll warm up the competition!!

cheers,
Greg
