Actually I have no idea if this latest Sexton album is available on Vinyl or not but when I was listening to it earlier, I thought it might be something you 2 ladies would enjoy. Of course I just HAD to put my own little spin on it. Ruby Mae's got it comin', you Laura, well you're just guilty by association. Cheers,Robin
RITUAL GROUND is a spontaneous sonic combustion, rich in cinematic overtones, deep atmospheres and tribal-electronic grooves. Previously available for a short time on San Francisco's now defunct Silent label – and featured in the musical score of the Michael Mann film, Heat ...
With its rich blend of elemental rhythms, mutated voicings and expanded fourth world tribal spaces, Forgotten Gods succeeds admirably in the quest for an improvised spacemusic. Like jazz, you can listen to each of the players and consider their moment-to-moment artistic choices. Like avant-garde work it achieves something wholly new, yet it also manages to satisfy the tonal, rhythmic and textural demands common in other forms of polar music... Empty your mind, turn down the lights, turn up the volume. Listen for an hour and I think you'll agree that FORGOTTEN GODS hits the mark with a resounding bang, shake, rattle, and drone.
Whoa Wolfy, time to put down the burger, and you're gonna need a bigga boat.
Do fries go with that shake...
I am home now...was offworld for a bit.
the first of an ongoing series of long form, steady state "zones" created specifically as tone meditations for the living space. Gently immersive and especially effective at low volume, the non-dynamic nature of this space can support sleeping as well as creative states, reading and other functions where "music" is considered invasive. Purposely untitled, minimal in nature and sonically uninterrupted for 74 minutes, this "tone zone" brings Steve's years as a sound painter of deep subtlety to a point where the "brush" has only a few bristles and nothing more is needed
Mhnnn... the Other...
