Shout out to mjosef- so I'm listenin to George Adams solo on the last track of Priestess, Mingus' Orange Was The Color Of Her Dress, Then Silk Blue (such soul), when I remembered you sayin how you dug him at the Vanguard with Gil Evans Monday nite orchestra and it made me think of sumthin . . in my hand at this moment is an ECM date he did with Heinz Sauer from Albert Manglesdorf Quartet (I saw them as a quintet in SF back in the day), Sound Suggestions. YOU should be this lucky.

That was at Sweet Basil, which was a couple blocks south of The Vanguard. I was sort of a regular there, well regular enough that they usually found me a table somewhere even when it was standing room only. I also saw George teamed up with Don Pullen, where he was even more far out...Pullen had been known to make a piano cry. So imagine a crying piano and a mourning wailin' sax.

You are listening to the good stuff there man. I never had the honor of hearing Braxton live, well not yet anyway, he is still performing so there is hope yet. aa
