Gato Barbieri -- Que Pasa /1997

If you're looking for the epitome of smooth jazz from a true modern master, look no further than Que Pasa.

Exquisite album of trio jazz, piano, bass and drums.

Quote
A new voice in jazz piano with unique, modern and swinging mainstream arrangements to standards and originals and a trio with an uncanny rhythmic rapport.

Listening & Watching a great documentary, that I highly recommend "In the Edges - The Grizzly Man Sessions"

Really great guitar work by Richard Thompson, well worth watching. Probably my favorite music film right now. I have it Tivo'd from the Sundance Channel, but I believe it is included on the Grizzly Man DVD as an extra. I think that I actually like this extra more than the Grizzly Man feature. Continuing the trend that for me, films about Werner Herzog are better than films by Werner Herzog. The previous example was "Burden of Dreams" being better to me than "Fitzcaraldo".

Żywiołak - Nowa Ex-Tradycja

Had to give this new find another listen and it is growing on me. 'Tis kind what Hedningarna fused with metal would sound like.

Буготак - Каверлар

A friend knowing my fondness for the oddballs felt a need to one-up me and introduce me to this album. As a cover album, it has some of the more interesting takes of songs I thought I had been all too familiar with including a throat singing and jew's harp version of The Beatle's "Come Together".
