Shuta Hasunuma, OK Bamboo
Electronic...unexpected sounds crackle at the most odd moments, not unlike the sounds within a bamboo patch.
Quote
Shuta Hasunuma likes two contrasting sounds, the gentle piano and the abrupt glitch. Sometimes the piano becomes an electronic hum and the glitch becomes a bird’s sampled tweet. Never mind, the idea is the same. One noise goes along underneath.

Companion soundtrack to the documentary film.

+1 Kitaro

Blue Rodeo - Small Miracles (2007)

Was also listening to the Willie and Wynton, mentioned earlier.  I'm a big Willie fan, so I'll add my +1 on that baby.

Sarah Jane Morris: Blue Valentine (1995)

Cheers,
Robin
Couldn't find samples online.  Concert footage on Youtube is horrible.  But one little recital with solo piano accompaniment on Youtube of a tune named "Cry" caused me to pull the trigger on this album (couldn't get the link to work here).

Live at Fat Tuesday's- Kenny Barron Quintet (enja).  A stone burner but dynamically damped down.  So, turn it up high!  Good compositions on this even when there not settin off fire alarms.

Great little singer with a big voice.  Down So Low is on this but don't miss I'll Be Long Gone.  I am lucky enough to have these two on a DTD album (Audio Directions) with a horn section.

Autumn Tears "Love Poems for Dying Children: Act I" lp
Highly original, haunting orchestration, dark, foreboding poetry and epic symphonies. Influences include Dead can Dance, Third & the Mortal as well as classical music. Dark funeral organs, melodic piano passages, beautiful, angelic female vocals, duets and dark, depressing atmosphere encompass only a portion of this opus. Special guest appearance from members of December Wolves. A dark, depressing saga of emotionally brooding musical poetry. Delve into the depths of everlasting sorrow."

Oh well I guess i am just hopelessly romantic
