Dave Matthews Band - Live in Chicago

This has my favorite version of #41 with Victor Wooten on bass.

Oooh. Good choice, Len. Classic. A joy. Pure genius.

A new neighbor just turned me on to Ray and I totally agree.

George, it might seem a stupid question, but what do you think of this collection?

Ray LaMontagne - Trouble

Can't believe I didn't have Ray LaMontagne in my library. The guy's practically a next door neighbor of mine. Thanks for the headup, both albums are now downloaded. :thumb:

Cheers,

Ray's song Trouble is pretty well known which is why I was surprised I didn't have him included. And that is actually 1 reason why this thread gets checked out each day. I have found sooo many good albums here. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

That special New Orleans bluesy funk...most satisfying album of the 3 or 4 Dr John albums I own. Well done Dr.

George, it might seem a stupid question, but what do you think of this collection?

I love it!   :green:

So far I have listened to pretty much the entire 10 disc set (I preordered the box set so I received a bonus disc of material from a show in Cincy on 12/4/73) and the sonics and music are excellent!!  :thumb:

The song selection is outstanding and they are on each night.

Each night has its own highlights:

On 11/9/73 I really liked "They Love Each Other", "To Lay Me Down", "Brown-Eyed Woman", and "The Greatest Story Ever Told">"Bertha"

On 11/10/73 I really liked "Stella Blue", "Brokedown Palace" and the "Loser">"Looks Like Rain">"Deal">"Mexicali Blues" run, "Weather Report Suite">"Playing in the Band">"Uncle John's Band">Morning Dew">"Uncle John's Band">"Playing in the Band" jam and it finishes strong with a "Truckin'">"Wharf Rat">"Sugar Magnolia" jam that is followed by "One More Saturday Night" and "Casey Jones"

On 11/11/73 the band really shines with its best rendition of "Weather Report Suite" out of the three nights, along with a killer "Dark Star">"Eyes of the World">"China Doll" jam.  Other highlights include "El Paso", "Loose Lucy", and nice finish with "Johnny B Goode">"We Bid You Goodnight"

Highly recommended and worthy of its 5 star rating in Stereophile and 4 1/2 stars in allmusic.com

George, thanks for the great info. Last month, my brother was prodding me to buy this collection. It's a foregone conclusion now. Thanks again.
