Damn. Eight pages have appeared since I last visited this topic. No wonder I have some change in my pocket. I stumbled on a website looking for some Castle speakers. Business, you know, is my pleasure. I typed in Castle Acoustics and landed on an interesting website. A music production outfit. Listened to their samples and bought this bad boy via Amazon: Sidespin- Square With The Universe (Aperion).
Sorta of a pretentious title but very nice stuff. Definitely something I would recommend for a jazz newbie and here, too. A little Hammond B3, electric guitar, tenor, bass and drums. This is good and very accessible s___! The producer and recording engineer is the keyboard player and scores very nicely on all counts. Glad I stumbled on this. They do a reggae quartet amongst several artists that is recorded just right based on the samples and my computer speakers. Regrettably, damn regrettably to me, this one is out of print. But the one I bought is available and recommended. I'm usually pretty jaded when it comes to jazz, but this wins me over.
