The last of the Atlantic legends has passed on to join Ahmet, Nesuhi, Tom and Arif in the great recording studio in the sky.
Jerry Wexler (January 10, 1917 - August 15, 2008). R.I.P.

An edited extract from Associated Press:

In the studio, Wexler was a hands-on producer. Once, during a session with Ray Charles, the tambourine player was off the beat. Wexler recalled grabbing the instrument and playing it himself.

"Who's that?" asked Charles.

"Me," Wexler told the blind singer.

"You got it, baby!" Charles said.
