FLASH! Here are two CD’s of female jazz singers that copies of which were sent to me by a customer in Capetown. He said they would blow my mind. Boy Howdy, he weren’t wrong! The former, who I’ve never heard before, is pretty hip and more contemporary sounding. The latter more of an old school cabaret type singer who I never knew made a recording this good:
Charmin Michelle- Pure Imagination; Carol Sloane- Dearest Duke. Very nice selections, too.
They are startlingly real in my room. Even in the kitchen they sound real. Well recorded sparse accompaniment, too. These get a BIG recommendation from me to you. All the way from Capetown! Both are recorded at a pretty high level. I had to back down the volume a little.
