Well I am new to AC. But I am listening to some older vocal music that has been staring at me for a long time virtually begging me to open the packages. Mainly operas that take awhile to completely finish.

Haydn - The Creation with von Karajan
Puccini - Tosca with Callas
Strauss - der Rosenkavalier von Karajan also Schwarzkopf & Ludwig
Boito - Mefistofele with Siepi, del Monaco & Tebaldi. Serafin conducts
Shostakovich - Lady Macbeth at Mtsensk Myung-Whun Chung cond.
Dixie Chicks - Fly
Gretchen Wilson - Here for the Party

This may sound stupid but you could hear Callas' emotion and acting through thre music. No wonder Stalin hated the Shostakovich opera. It is anything but pleasant or simple music. Gretchen W. may be a one or two shot wonder, but she made a great party disc. Hello Mr. Heartache, from the Dixie Chicks CD Fly, may just become one of the great country break-up songs, right up there with Hank Williams, I Can't Help It If I'm Still In Love With You. If I have listened to it once , I've listened to it 100 times.
