GS-  Is that the 20bit total Vanguard series?  I don't know about you (all), but I got a problem with a grown 60 year old man still curling is hair (Robert Plant w Allison Krauss).  Besides, I never liked R&R singers that sing in their top octave.  Gimme Eddie Vedder and Chrissy Hyde (I'll make an exception for Ann Wilson).  Pee on Axl Rose (awful) and his mentor, the guy who still curls his hair.  I don't know what this has to do with anything here.  Zoom.   :wine:

Erika Luckett, tinted glass

Very interesting guitarist/composer...
Quote
Smokey vocals over a deeply grooving guitar.  Stories and melodies that keep speaking to you long after the CD has stopped playing.  It's like Joni Mitchell got together with Tom Jobim and decided to spend a month in  Cuba.

Wow...this one was a surprise, never knew the Swiss could do funk...in their very special own way of course...
Quote
Bärtsch calls the music “Zen-funk,” but a more useful description is perhaps ”visceral minimalism.” Bärtsch subscribes to minimalism's launch mission to explore the Einsteinian deep space of music-as-math, shuffling and stacking a deck of pre-composed melodic modules and intricately interlocking rhythms, but humanises the astro science with earthy funk-inspired bass ostinatos and kick-ass drums.
Excellent recording on ECM of course..
Quote
Global Rhythm (Publication) (p.49) - "Global grooves, mercurial melodies, plucky polyrhythms and hypnotic happenings abound on this impressive release..."

Hey!

Cool! One of my favorite. :D That's her first album and it was a great one. But sadly it didn't sell well and not many people know about it. :?

Her later albums are totally difference than her first, different style and feel but still very good. :D

Take care,

Just got this reissued deluxe edition of this 1971 concert...I remember these tunes well, being a favorite of the DJs at all those parties of that era where I was probably stoned 90% of the time...
Its been  almost 30 years since I heard these tunes... :guitar:  :drums:
