Carbon Glacier- Laura Viers (Nonesuch). Like Nonesuch is known for releasing POP artists. This is a disc noteworthy not just because of Laura Viers but because of the intelligent and supportive production she gets. Oh, she's special alright. I don't think she would have gotten this kind of support if I were the only fool who thought so. It's not like she's a sensational singer. Honest and communicative is what she is (she accompanies herself live on acoustic guitar). Even if you don't like her lyrics, she has an enchantment about her that's become mesmerising to me and that's what I think her label, producer, and accompanying musicians intended. Good job. But first, they had to appreciate it. Good job. Think you might, too. I can't quit listening to this. And you might even like her lyrics.
