I ended up winning 2 ebay offers for the same album, one is orig and the 2nd is a Spanish printing.
Both were won for $.99 and the Spanish printing is as mint as they come.

inspired by the opera threads we started with the closest thing we had

the Josh Groban tune from

then spent a hour or two looking up opera on amazon and listening to samples and shopping.
Stuff from Pavarotti, Madame Butterfly among some others..

Then turned to classical...

This actually has the most moving "Emperor" performance. The recording is not bad in the sense that the instruments really sound realistic and the soundstage is well defined but the noise floor is quite high. We compared with a Telarc Boston SO performance on hybrid SACD and while the recording is stunning and seperation is fantastic, we really didn't care much for the larthargic rendition. It really sucked the life out of the music IMO. The prior was far more engaging and emotive.

which was recommended on this forum... very technical playing but a bit challenging listen.

Hey Wolf how do you like the sound quality I have the remastered job, its very fine.
Been playing that and This Was CD alot lately. they did a fine job on them.

Always loved that album, I remember specifically carring it under my arm with "This Was" and trying not to crash my bike, back in those days that little record store sold head supplies too

- wow, no I was not riding my bike waisted either.

Yeah those 2 albums definitely were stoner album covers if I ever saw one, I think that cover on Stand Up is one of the coolest ever to this day, used to creep me out a little back then.

just had too try this guy that's some funny sh..., hadn't used him yet.
