Morphine - Yes

How does that sound? A friend of mine has a few of their albums but I have not been adventureous enough to try them. The only thing he has I care for much at all is usually Primus, which is recorded well, best bass player on the planet, good drummer, and smart lyrics, crazy sound.

Funny you say this. Mark Sandman and Les were buddies.  I can't remember exactly where it was but at a Frog Brigade show Les gave tribute to Mark and said that Mark gave him the idea to use the old fashion mic that you hear in so many Morphine/Les songs. How can you possibly beat a two string slide bass?  If you want to checkout another bass buddy of Mark's Mike Rivard is amazing.  His "band" Club D'Elf is a one of a kind and he is real good and quite an innovator IMHO.  they still play at the Lizard Lounge where Mark played his last local gig.  The place is like seeing a show in your basement.  I try to get out and see him at least once every few months but late night shows on Thursdays aren't what they use to be.  Anyway Mike played bass in the few Morphine Orchestra shows with the other two members of the band.  Long live the Boston music scene! RIP Mark Sandman

Louis Bellson Big Band on Telarc on some DIY speakers I am putting together.  It sounds better than I expected.

Jazzy funk jams with some afro-cuban spice thrown in for good measure.

Hey!

Well, just finished tweaking and adjusting my "Chopping board" Turntable  So, I'm doing all vinyl night tonight. :D

Anyway, just picked this one up Gnarl Barkley "St. Elsewhere"  The song "Crazy" is pretty cool I like it. Well, worth it for just that song alone :D

On vinyl of cause... I'm always very happy to see new music on vinyl

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:
