Hey!

Strangely I don't own any album from Linkin Park or Jay-Z... although I've been listening to Jay-Z a bit with my brother. He is a big Jay-Z fan

But somehow I do enjoy this album. A strange interesting mix for sure.... and it is damn fun

Used to listen to this with my little bro but he recently moved to San Diego. So, I pick up myself a copy... on vinyl of cause found it in store on Bleeker street in Manhattan.

Ahhhh.... memory. I used to listen to this jamin' with my little bro in his pimped "sleeper" black '92 Accord EX with '92 Prelude Vtec engine in it and Pioneer/Infinity sound system that me and him installed ourself

This pic shows the reissue (2005), I have the original JMT 1995 release... Trio recording of his group Right Brain Patrol. This was his follow up to his Bass Desires album. Marc Alan Johnson /double bass, Wolfgang Muthspiel /acoustic guitar, electric guitar, guitar synthesizer, Arto Tuncboyaciyan /vocals, drums, percussion. Recorded in Germany.

This is the Stockholm Jazz Orchestra's salute to tango, which demonstrates, once again, that the only boundaries in jazz are theoretical. This is a superb group of musicians, and arranger Carlos Franzetti has managed to evoke the classic, sinuous rhythms of tango with soulful, atmospheric jazz arrangements that suggest a deep admiration for Gil Evans. "La Ultima Curda" is especially reminiscent of Evans' legendary Sketches of Spain collaboration with Miles Davis. While the inclusion of the traditional, accordion-like bandoneon adds authentic flavor and two compositions — the powerful "Revolutionario" and the haunting ballad "Chiquilin de Bachine" — by tango legend Astor Piazzolla are represented, the overall sound is pure big-band jazz. And very good jazz at that: The arrangements move, change, and build, with ever-flowing lines, interesting tempo changes, and a variety of solo textures. The trumpet solos by Argentinian Gustavo Bergalli, which are featured throughout, are superb. Highlights include the above tracks as well as "El Arrastre," "Los Mareados," and "Tango Fatal," all of which convey the teasing mystery of tango expressed through the sophisticated language of jazz. The CD is also very crisply recorded in every blazing detail, using DSD technology. Lush, luscious, and unusual.

Graham Haynes - The Griots Footsteps. Been a favorite since i found it in a local used bin 10 years ago.

Anybody else a fan that can recommend others by GH?

Check out his follow-up release to that, "tones for the 21st century", which came out the year after the Groits Footsteps.

Funk from the veteran funk-Master Larry Graham...anybody remember 'my radio sure sounds good to me' or 'release yourself'...
