I picked this one up when it first came out in 1994 from Tower Record on 4th Street NYC.... still have Tower's price sticker on it and it was $10.99. Ahhhh.... memory

38 minutes for a cd released in 2006 by a real musician should be a disgrace...and apparantly there was a lack of ideas, for this cd does not offer anything new vs the superior (and longer) previous release "hard Groove". Plus, the mix seem to favor the bass way too much...its funky but too soft, I have heard these grooves before in the 80's from Funkadelic and Roy Ayers. Poor effort Mr. Hargrove...you do sound...distracted.

Brian Bromberg-Wood Very good record IMHO. I'm not typically a fan of bass solos, but this one is awesome!

BTW, dumb question, but where are you guys getting the cover art? Is it from iTunes or something? I know you guys aren't taking the time to scan the cover art every time you post.

I love these Milestone profile series, you get a free disc too with various artists. Concord is doing a splendid job on the remastering, all in glorious 24-bit.

Another Concord family label...24 bit remastering and bonus disc...this has been on a higher shelf unopened for months on end, its like finding money.

Come to think of it, I might have picked these (this and the previous Milestone Profiles)up at Virgin some time ago. Sounds great.
