I nearly spit out my beer when I started it. This is freakin country! No alt country, just plain country. I was introduced to Neko Case from the New Pornographers (fantastic band btw). Totally and completely different from that.

However, I must say, I hate to admit, but this is pretty good. She is a great song writer and has a good voice....kinda reminds me of Dolly.

I am now interested in her other numerous works (under many different guises).

Holy crap anyone ever listen to track 3 on their system? It does this weird ass effect that feels like a sonic attack bow my hair back on both sides of my head... However there is no air, and it does not hurt, but it freaks me out.

Waw...interesting album, chamber music string quartet plus voice performing popular music...vocals by various musicians like Elvis Costello, Sting, Bjork, Meredith Monk, Ian Shaw, Jacqui Dankworth and others...just checked their website and they have been performing together since 1972!
Certainly perked my interest to check out their other numerous recordings.
