Melvins are hard to describe. Really hard but more tuned down distortion riding high, bass heavy, and drum crunching rock. slacker metal? Kind of hard to put words to it.

That review is pretty good if not a bit biased. I grew up near Aberdeen and was a budding music entuisiast during that era (high school).

Their description of Nirvanna/Black Sabbath without the pop song components and no wild guitar riffs is probably pretty close. I like Stoner Witch & the latest Senile Animal best. They have been kind of all over the map. Those two are the closest I think.

P.S. I think this one could have wide appeal in this crowd. Not boring, her voice is really quite appealing and the recording quality is pretty top notch. Nothing super experimental or innovative IMHO, but good melodic tunes.

Album no longer in print but now available in a DG box set.
This is the man that perked my interest in classical music.

I got Furnace Room Lullaby, too. Now I've got all of her solo stuff except Canadian Amp, I think.

That's a fun CD, I like Gallowbird's Bark better, somewhat easier to listen.

Its pretty darn good. He continues to be inventive and not turning out the same old thing. It isn't quite as good as Guero or Sea Changes IMO, but not that far off though.
