Hi Paul, I really liked it. Even replayed a couple of songs before the album ended which is something I rarely do. I don't know how much his son contributed to it, but (with a few exceptions) it has a really laid-back "alt-country" sound (more country than alt). Really nice album.
I'm doing well and hope you are too. I got back from Maine yesterday afternoon. Went leaf-peeping with my girlfriend. It was peak season up there. We don't get that in Houston and I hadn't been back in almost 12 years. Stayed in 3 places along the coast working our way from Boothbay Harbor to Camden - finished our trip in Bar Harbor. I didn't want to leave!
Can you say what equipment you're currently reviewing?
Hi Dave,
Think I'll get the album then. I was worried it was going to be more of Wilco. I like Wilco but don't need Wilco II.
Too bad you missed the blueberry season. I used to love picking wild blueberries in Maine and Nantucket the times I went there. My friends and I used to
add whip cream and it was sublime eating. One summer in Nantucket, I saw the Aurora Borealis and it was a mine blowing experience. No, I didn't take any drugs beforehand, just two or three beers. Did you have your fill of lobster and clam chowder?

Did you ever lived in the Northeast?
Don't know if you're aware of my recent massive three part review of some iFi-audio components. Just finished reviewing the Teac UD-501 USB DAC and got the draft back from the company after fact checking. Excellent value I might add, especially with DSD files. I love stuff that punches above the cost. Should be online soon. I'm in the middle of reviewing the brand new Prima Luna Dialogue Premium HP power amp. I hope to beat everyone else with a world premiere if I can get it done by the end of this month, but I don't think so because I requested both EL34 and KT120 output tubes. I've listened with the EL34s but haven't even open the KT120s yet. Oh, I just got a pair of Fritz' revised Carbon Seven speakers. That's it till next year. I'm taking a break after the Carbon Sevens. By that time, I'll have written more reviews in one year for Dagogo (eight, including the three part iFi review) than two and half years for the Stereo Times (six, though I also wrote a bunch of show reports and manufacturer visits).
Cheers,
Paul
p.s. I'll be back more often on this circle once I finish all my reviews.
