Lisa Ekdahl: Back To Earth (With Peter Nordahl Trio) (1999)

A Swedish girl w/a squeeky voice who is hell bent on singing jazz. An aquired taste but I do like the emotion Lisa puts into the songs on this particular album,,,, unlike some of her earlier albums that I've heard from her.

based on the reviews i had high hopes for this one....don't get it.

PS: The CD I displayed is one I bought in Sydney a few years ago. Tower has it as an import. The sound quality is excellent!

Nice, Robin. Girls got some nerve, too. On Cry Me a River, I could hear quite a bit of Billie in there. That little bluish coquettishness. I've heard a singer somewhere, sometime that she reminds me of. Can't quite get it tho. Maybe Ho would know. The man with the plan. Good call. Very nice accompaniment, too. Nice to hear Keely Smith is getting some spins, also. She was a favorite of mine years back along with June Christy and Chris Conner.

Cool. Nadler's music has its cringe-worthy moments thanks to some of the lyrics and too quaint of sound, but her voice makes up for it. That and I suppose there's also a draw in the dissonance (perhaps the primary feature that makes a song of interest) of such, well, quaint sounding music, a gentle, soft voice and such dark lyrical subject matter.
