Kvartetten Som Sprängde - Kattvals

"Kattvals" is a little known gem of Swedish 70s prog-rock scene. It's a pity that most of ambitious rock fans don't know "Kvartetten Som Sprängde" band and their only album. Their music is a combination of instrumental psychedelic rock, jazz-rock, heavy prog and some Scandinavian folk influences.

Phil Manzanera -Guitarissimo

Phil Manzanera actually produced this collection, so the tracks seemed to have been selected with care.
The songs all come from Manzanera's first five solo albums: Diamond Head, 801 Live, Listen Now, K-Scope and Primitive Guitars, which all happen to be his best albums, in my no-so-humble opinion.
And Manzanera decided to blend each song together with an overlapping effect, similar to The Moody Blues' This Is... compilation. It serves the songs well, and gives the album a good flow.
If you want a taste of the early Manzanera albums, I highly recommend this release.

Jade Warrior - Floating World

Jade Warrior's 1974 Island label debut is a beautiful and original fusion of proto-Ambient, World, Progressive Rock and Classical influences.

Classic stuff, as is their entire Island records series, though their first is very good as well.   :thumb:

Führs & Fröhling - Ammerland

Something laid back to go with Sunday morn coffee.........

Quote
Gerd Führs (keys) and Heinz Fröhling (guitars) recorded Ammerland together while still members of SFF, or Schicke Führs Fröhling, but their partnership endured beyond the breakup of the trio. Ammerland is one of those absolutely wonderful albums you encounter every now and again, then wonder how you'd done without it for so long. It's an almost unique mixture of classical guitar and monosynths, with the odd other keyboard and a plethora of superb tunes, at least one dating back to SFF's pre-deal days, going by bootleg evidence.
