I wish I could say more on the sound. I have been without my usual listening stuff for some time... I need to get a few things to have sound again. Basically part of my laptop got FRIED so now I am going to (when I can) buy a DAC and USB device.
Here is what I can tell you...
They did it all in one take, NO REHERSAL AT ALL. It was recorded over three days, all different years haha... It seems to sound good from what I can tell. The standing bass is pretty revealed, it sounds like a string insturment as opposed to thumps.
A fellow audiophile said, "it sounds like they just had a big jam session." Well that is because they did.
I will have more on it later when I get a chance. Yeah I am going nuts without good sound!
At a guess it is a lot better than On An Island even though it is in a house and live. There are a lot of suttle insturment parts so an audiophile setup might be nice to hear it all. It actually sounds like there is a soundstage too from what I can tell.
Plus Bruce is a genious and the DVD side is just a pleasure, in a more upbeat way than Devils and Dust. The album booklet is nice as well, lyrics and origins of the songs or what they were in protest for etc...
