It sure didn't hurt having grown up with quality fm radio during the late 60's and the 70's... back when there were no playlists and dj's played songs longer than 3 mins. or even entire albums. XPN is still a decent station and can be streamed http://xpn.org/ of course googling genre's that interest you can be interesting and or record labels like Rhino, Sub Pop, MA....
