Emily Remler- East to Wes (Concord).  Every jazz lover outta have a copy of this.  She is a phenom player, sadly no longer with us, with an excellent rhythm section on this.

OK, so I get home from a friends house this evening and sit in front of my stereo for 8 straight hours listening to albums.  I'm a firm believer in listening all the way through an album and if I can't because the content isn't good enough, that CD/LP is immediately sold.  My system is by far the most emotionally compelling I've owned and brings me back to the days when I used to listen to album after album on my very modest stereo back in college.  I didn't really care about high end back then, though I've been raised with high end gear since I was born- my Dad is a longtime audiophile and former dealer.

Anyway, I digress.  What I listened to this evening:

The Beatles Abbey Road LP
The Strokes- First Impressions on Earth LP
Grateful Dead American Beauty LP
Mozart Flute Concertos Zuckerman Flute LP
Brahms Piano Concerto #1 Brendel- CD
Miles Davis Milestones CD
Jay Z The Blueprint CD
Fiona Apple Extraordinary Machine LP
The Libertines LP
Daryl Hall & John Oates Rock & Soul Part I LP
Hi Fi Espanola LP
Blur Modern Life is Rubbish CD
Oasis Definitley Maybe LP

What a killer session.  This, my friends, is what it's all about- at least to me.

PS- shouldn't a "What are you listening to" thread be a sticky on this circle?

Wow! Mike aa, I can not resist doing a posting, tho I've read yours sooo long ago, and this thread has grown long.  I admire people who can sit through an entire album, not to mention album"s", at a stretch.  I tend to hop around, tracks, albums.....  There ARE albums, however, I can sit through the entire recording, tho I don't do it often.  My current favorite is this:

I am not sure I did the insert properly, I'll know in a moment.  This is such an album that makes one relax.  It's a highly "reflective" album I would say; and it's been selling like hot cakes I bet.  It's so suitable for those quieter moments.  The sound is gorgeous (Telarc usually does a good job), and the artistry is impressive.  A big hand for the Brooklyn gal (Dinnerstein is from Brooklyn).  Supposedly this album is holding its own compared to the famed Glenn Gould cycle.

Not too many people post classical tracks here at A/C, so this may be such an oddball.
