Frank Sinatra - "Sinatra Reprise: The Very Good Years"....cd....

And the good guys won today so it would have been Frank singing instead of Liza if it was in the Bronx instead of Queens.

This has proven to be one of the most interesting and long-running threads here on AC, but I'd like a small favor. I'm sure it's great to post the album/disc covers of the music you're listening too, but would each person who does this also consider printing a brief description of the album too, the artist and title, or even a link to it on Amazon or somewhere else. The problem is, that some of us (meaning me for one) cannot see the album art, and if that's the only clue to the disc being heard, the message is lost on me.

Thanks for your consideration and keep that great music spinning.

I wish people would give it a rating on how audiophile quality it is... whether or not it is a good album is more up for debate.

Asian Vibes, a 2disc set of mixes of music from the far East. A lil' too disco sounding some of the tracks are to me.

Why not just simply go to www.allmusic.com and check out the rating and read their review?

      Hey!

I see... I guess your internet browser does not support it. That's is sad since I consider the album cover art also an important part of the album itself.

Anyway, yes if you notice I do sometime write a bit about the album I posted here and will try to do so especially for those great but obscure album and from not well know artist.  And like lonewolf I will now try to link the sample from the amzon and etc for you guy whenever I can.

      Take care,
      Buddy :thumb:

Actually, I use the browser most of you do, it's my eyes that have trouble with the album art. I don't want to make a big deal out of this, but as  other members of the MAAC have found out, I am basically blind , and so most of those pretty pictures are lost on me.

Now as for my ears... :)

With some of the cover artwork, thats true, some you cannot read the title...as to DOS suggestion of a 'review', that sounds like work when one is simply spinning some tunes for enjoyment, whilst sitting at the computer...

Allmusic.com reviews the music itself, but doesn't typically comment on the sonics, or on how "audiophile sounding" the recording is.

I think part of the fun of this thread is its spontinaityty. Therefore, I don't need to see reviews or extended commentary on the music discussed here, unless of course, the posting person feels motivated by what he is playing to do so. I'm just asking for a brief note, giving the artist and album title to go along with the picture. After all, it does take some effort to upload the cover art, so I doubt it will take any longer to provide this small amount of additional information.

So, what am i listening to right now?

Mark Knopfler "The Rag Picker's Dream" on CD.

Enjoy the music, that's really what it's all about, isn't it?

Most of the stuff I listen to rates lowly on audiophile criteria, though there are a few that sound good (White Stripes elephant/Dylan monos) but are still not "audiophile quality."

If you are curious about the sound quality of CD's or vinyl from particular artists, especially popular ones, I'd check out Steve Hoffman's forums:
