Its a delightful hour plus of music, the music from the two continents fits like yin and yang. I see that there is a volume 2 continuing the adventure, and I will be seeking it out.

Reissued on DG Echo 20/21 series, originally recorded in the 70's. Takemitsu composed this piece for traditional Japanese instruments...Kinshi Tsuruta on biwa and Katsuya Yokoyama on shakuhachi
